Social activities are sponsored by the Orchard Brook Homeowners Association as well as some of our neighbors. We enjoy gathering for plenty of family-friendly fun as well as some grownup activities.

Thursday, May 21 at 7pm at the Clubhouse, discussing The Wedding People by Alison Espach (fiction)

Tuesday, June 30 at 7pm at the Clubhouse, discussing Theo of Golden by Allen Levi (fiction)

Monday, August 10 at 7pm at the Clubhouse, discussing The Correspondent by Virginia Evans (fiction)

Book club will aim to meet every six weeks. We will rotate through different weeknights to allow more participants to join. Come when you can, skip when you have conflicts. Stay tuned for more book selections and dates to be announced.
If you didn’t finish the book (yes, you can intentionally quit for any reason), please come to the meeting to share your reading experience and socialize. Books aren’t an obligation; they are an invitation!
The Downers Grove Library offers extended checkout for local book clubs. If you’d like to participate, please email Beth with your library card account name & number. Please specify if you would prefer large print or audiobook (Audio CD or Playaways/preloaded mp3 players) and the library will accommodate that request if available, and provide a regular print copy if not. Your information will remain on file at the library as part of the “Orchard Brook Book Club,” and when the book club organizers request the next title, the library will check out a copy on your account for six weeks instead of three. All you have to do is pick it up from the library’s hold area and return it to the library after our meeting/discussion. Anyone who prefers an eBook or audiobook through Libby, Cloud Library, or Hoopla should check out a copy on their own. Library staff cannot reserve these for you or extend the due date.
Have questions? Contact Beth or April.
Happy Reading!
